The Center for Writing & Rhetoric along with the University Libraries, Division of Outreach, Center for Excellence in Literacy Instruction and Writing Centers are promoting an essay contest for students based on this year’s Common Reading Experience book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Prizes will be given to a winner from each category: UM – Oxford, UM – DeSoto, UM – Tupelo, UM – Grenada, UM – Booneville, UMMC (Jackson), and Lafayette County High School and Oxford High School.
